Last Days of 1984 are a Dublin based experimental-pop duo. Brian Rice and Darren Moloney sure know how to write dreamy electronic-pop tunes, very much reminiscent of the early 90s, but they’re not just good for that. The single “Woods” shows their noisier side perfectly, combining upbeat melodies with bright reverby vocals and distorted guitar-synth sounds. Having played alongside bands like Battles, HEALTH and tUnE-yArDs they are now releasing their debut album “Wake Up To The Waves”, out May 4th on Osaka Records.

“USA Boys” by HEALTH
HEALTH’s new remix album DISCO2, due June 22 in North America (via Lovepump United) and July 6 in Europe and the UK (via City Slang), is features folks like Crystal Castles, Gold Panda, Javelin, and Tobacco reworking tracks from HEALTH’s Get Color album. But the LP leads off with one all-new, non-remixed HEALTH track.

Most noise-punk bands don’t have any remix albums. Pretty soon, HEALTH will have two.
The L.A. quartet’s brand of skree was always pretty dance-friendly, and in 2008, they released the remix LP DISCO. This summer, the group will release the sequel, the appropriately titled DISCO2. The collection features people like Crystal Castles, Tobacco, Salem, Javelin, Gold Panda, and Pictureplane reworking tracks from their 2009 album Get Color. It also includes “USA Boys”, a brand new HEALTH single that production legend Alan Moulder mixed. DISCO2 is due June 22 in North America (via Lovepump United) and July 6 in Europe and the UK (via City Slang).
HEALTH also have a ton of dates coming up on both sides of the Atlantic. After spending their spring playing around Europe, the duo will tour North America with Indian Jewelry and DISCO2 remixer Gold Panda. - Pitchfork
